The following three objectives apply when addressing new architecture and design projects, and academic subjects, and act as a series of filters for consideration during each stage of a project, from inception to execution.

Purpose

LHAD is conscious that the consequences of architecture and design are broad and far-reaching. A spatial environment, no matter how modest, has the potential to shape lives, communities and the planet for the better. Collaboration with the appropriate, like-minded partners is vital to ensure that a project will create positive impact, both now and in the future, and is considered a priority as well as a responsibility.

Planet

The built environment is a significant emitter of Green House Gases contributing to the Climate Crisis, and impacts other urgent issues such as loss of biodiversity and pollution. With a firm foot in academia teaching classes on Biomimicry, Life Cycle Assessment and Science and Sustainable Design, LHAD is well positioned to understand and apply responsible environmental solutions to design projects.

Play

Architecture is serious fun. The collaborative process of making architecture and design projects can sometimes be challenging but with the right partners it can be a journey of creativity, imagination and joy. Whether it is clients, contractors or consultants, LHAD places importance on partnering with those that share a similar vision, that can play successfully together to make spaces that inspire and delight.
